Around Greek mythology, Melia was a nymph, one of the Meliae, who were girl of Oceanus. By her brother Inachus, she became the mother of Io, Phoroneus and Aegialeus or Phegeus. Inside more stories, she was a mother of Amycus by Poseidon.
Melia is also a title of the village in the southeastern a portion of the Evros prefecture
Melia is as well the title of a genus of trees in the mahogany family Meliaceae, notably the Chinaberry or Bead tree Melia azedarach.
